Hi, have had the OVMS app on my iPhone for over 5 years with no problems connected to my Nissan Leaf. Stopped working a few days ago. I have reset the the module in the car and setup as a new vehicle. Can get everything to work and see the car reporting on OVMS dashboard and on the Dexter’s server. But whatever I try I can’t get the Apple OVMS app to connect. Has anyone else had a recent problem with the app?
I am experiencing the same issue with a Nissan Leaf. Logging in the OVMS hardware, it is reporting "OVMS V2 login successful, and crypto channel established". The ABRP module is also uploading telemetry.
I too have attempted to re-add the car a new vehicle in the iOS app, no joy.
If you are using Dexter's server, have you changed the iOS settings (Open Vehicles App) to match that server (it defaults to api.openvehicles.com).
I have been using api.openvehicles.com. I'm not sure what happened but yesterday the iOS app started working again after about a week of it not.
For those with this problem, I suggest you check iOS Settings App, search for 'Open Vehicles' and make sure server is set to 'api.openvehicles.com'. I helped someone recently who had it set to 'tmc.openvehicles.com' (which was deprecated a decade ago).
New installation: Similar to others up-thread, I can see my Nissan Leaf ZE1 data in the module's WiFi dashboard when sitting in the vehicle, and on the ovms.dexters-web.de website. But I don't see any data on the iOS app. I see a flashing "aerial" symbol top right of app's Status page. What does this icon mean?
Is there a step-by-step guide to the iOS app that explains the meaning of each credential field? In the app, when defining a new car I see these fields:
VehicleID. I have set to the Module's name
Vehicle Label. I have set to a nice nickname for the vehicle
OVMS server password. I have set to my user-account password at dexters-web
OVMS module password. I have set to the module password
In the iOS settings for Open Vehicles I see:
OVMS server address. I have set to ovms.dexters-web.de
Port I have left at default 6867
www.openvehicles.com Username. I have set to dmajwool
Password. I have set to my this website's password
I don't see a field where I can input my site username at dexters-web.de I don't understand why this is not also required in addition to my site password in the New Vehicle setup page of the app.
The app is not giving me any feedback about which parts of the connection are failing, which leaves me feeling pretty powerless to troubleshoot this issue.

OK, I've found my bad configuration, made a change and now the app has connected to the vehicle.
I had
OVMS server password. I have set to my user-account password at dexters-web
which is inappropriate. it should be
OVMS server password. I have now set to the vehicle profile password at dexters-web - and this works.
Perhaps next time the devs are modifying the app they could make the wording in the Add Vehicle fields a bit more verbose and idiot-proof :-)
