Cannot get simcard to work

Hi,

just installed my new ovms, but i cannot get the simcard to work. When i power on the modem i dont see the iccid

and the shell says

I (627165) simcom: State timeout, transition to 2
I (627165) simcom: State: Enter PoweringOn state
I (627165) simcom: Power Cycle
I (647165) simcom: State timeout, transition to 2
I (647165) simcom: State: Enter PoweringOn state
I (647165) simcom: Power Cycle

I (667165) simcom: State: Enter PoweringOn state
I (667165) simcom: Power Cycle

Tried different apn suggestions, maybe the sim module ist not working?

maybe a stupid question but...did you activate the sim ?

Sure, and i removed the pin

Sure, and i removed the pin protection. The problem seems to be the powering of the module since it doesnt even show the iccid of the card.

I opened a ticket at fasttech, maybe its a broken module.

Try powering on from 12V

Try powering on from 12V vehicle power, or from a powered USB hub. Some USB ports on laptops can't provide enough power for the modem.
