Newbie needs help

Hi,  so I am new at this.  I have a 2016 Nissan Leaf SL.  I was finally able to set up the OVMS module,  but now am at a loss as to where I plug it into the vehicle.  I thought it was into the TCU,  which is located behind my glove box,  but that requires special tools to remove, from what I can see on YouTube,  However after reading everything through again,  the plug I have will not fit the TCU.  So where does this thing get plugged in?

I have the same model. The OBDII port is under the steering wheel. The port is completely exposed and you don't have to remove any panels.

I have a 2015 Leaf. It plugs into the OBD port under the steering wheel. You do need to unplug the white plug on the TCU to get the pre-conditioning/HVAC to work properly.

Ok  Done found Port under

Ok  Done found Port under steering wheel,  and Removed the Glove box and located the TCU and unplugged the plug,  mine was black with white interior,  however now voice recognition does not work in car.  What went wrong?  according to OVMS user manual,  voice recognition should still work.

I'm new to this as well, but

I'm new to this as well, but after researching, it looks like things not working properly after pulling the TCU plug isn't uncommon. I haven't tried voice recognition, but I cannot get the door lock function to work from the app and if I have the HVAC running and send the door unlock command, the doors don't unlock and the HVAC system turns off. I'm still trying to find a solution.
