xtr speedo

I am sure this will be very simple. I want to turn on the speedo option under xtr. I am in ssh. I do config xtr and that is no good. what is the command to set the xtr digital.speedo value? for a roadster. Thanks!

Try:

Try:

config set xtr digital.speedo yes

Note that this is experimental, and largely untested at the moment. Please let us know how you get on with it.

Regards, Mark.

xtr

That fails for me, parameter not found. config list show no xtr. config list xtr gives 'xtr not found'. I am in a roadster and all else seems to be working fine: the app, the web login, dash, everything. What would make xtr not be alive? I have the latest firmware. Thanks for the help.

xtr speedo

Hello,
I'm running firmware 3.1.010 and successfully set speedo parameter as described.
I drove around for a couple of weeks with it set but the speed never showed properly in the amps display during that period and I experienced loss of contact with OVMS regularly...ending up rebooting the unit quite often.
I've reverted the parameer to 'no', and haven't done any reboot since (more than a week).
I would have offered to help troubleshooting but winter is coming here so the roadster will be a garage queen for a couple of months so all I can do is offer this data point for now.

Are you using a 2.5 roadster?

Are you using a 2.5 roadster?

If anyone can assist debugging this, let me know (via help ticket) and I'll see what I can do.

Not quite, VIN #1162 is officially a 2.0.
It's a Dec 2010 build and OVMS 2 digital speedo worked well with it.
If digital speedo is only 2.5 compatible for OVMS3, I missed that mention.

Probably unrelated but since then, I've been having regular software crash/reboots...no need to hard reset though, these reboots happen on their own and it recovers without any intervention.
Here's the last occurence I captured today that shows 217 reset in about two weeks since my last hard reset/power cycle:
========================
Last boot was 241 second(s) ago

This is reset #217 since last power cycle

I'll see if I can catch some logs on this since it's recurring.
Let me know if you have recommended log configuration for this type of issue.

I think the first step should

I think the first step should be firmware upgrade. 3.1.010 is 2018-08-26, and we are now 3.2.005 (2019-09-19). The xtr digital speedo functionality should work on all 2.x Tesla Roadsters.

XTR Speedo Debug Assist

Hi Mark,
I'll be driving my roadster for (hopefully) a couple more weeks this time. I've set the speedo parameter again and experienced loss of connectivity with the app as well as no speed readout on the 'Amps' field so far.

What logging setting do you wish me to set?
Do I need an SD card for logging or there is some memory the unit will use?

Do you wish to track these exchanges here or on GIT?

Thanks,
Patrice
