Any plans or development to support Smart EQ 453 models?

Reason I ask is because Smart/Mercedes are planning to phase out their remote access to the car due to 2G/3G network service being deprecated in Dec 2024. See screenshot below.

Are they any plans from anyone in the community to offer similar services?

Thx in advance.

Smart EQ453 and OVMS

I got the ovms module since mercedes bailed on all of their customers. TBH - the mercedes service was never great anyway.
The OVMS is is - hologram didnt like my email. New email address - now working. I can track the car and see SOC on iOS. Nothing else. Apparently the Android app is better featured. I have an old android I will try it later - maybe keep it on in the house just so I can preheat!
Set up on ios has a few gotchas and it took a few weeks to get connected except for the web app.
I can't code so just grateful when anything works. If anyone knows how to control climate on the web app I would appreciate the education.

Regarding the difference in

Regarding the difference in Apps (Android vs iOS), both apps have the Console - and so long as the vehicle module supports the functionality, you can issue the command directly in that console.

For example, if the vehicle supports it:

climatecontrol on

And now it is December 25 2024 and nothing has happened...

The open energy monitoring shop is down. That is not very encouraging. And also the information here is paper thin. Well it seems that my Smart Fortwo EQ 2021 will lose quite a bit of its functionality then. Thank you Mercedes Benz for doing absolutely nothing... And thank you OVMS for not bringin a proper alternative solution......

As we've always said, very clearly: The purpose of this project is to get the community of vehicle hackers and enthusiasts to be able to expand the project. We can't do it all, and there is so much to do. What we are doing is providing an affordable and flexible base that the community can work on and extend. Everything is open, and APIs are public. Other car modules can talk to the server, and other Apps can show the status and control the car. This is a foundation that others hopefully will interface to and and build upon.

If you need a feature for a particular vehicle type, then the best approach is to get the community to help develop that feature. Work with vehicle-specific forums and chat groups to see if anyone has the skills to help. Even non-technical users can assist with beta testing and Internet research for PID codes, etc.
