Hi,
I have had OVMS installed in my Leaf for a few months now using the Hologram cellular connectivity. The connection was reliable until Australia turned off the 3G network at the end of October. The cellular modem now often goes into an unregistered state. To get the cellular connectivity restored, I stop/start the modem in the OVMS web status page and it then works reliable for possibly a day.
I am not sure what can be done to make it automatically reconnect, but in the meantime, is there a way to schedule the cellular modem to stop/start 7am each morning?
I suggest to try 'edge' firmware. That has some experimental improvements to handling of cellular recovery in areas of poor connectivity.
Thanks @markwj for the suggestion, I'll look into to edge.
I've have since setup cellular logging and found the following when the connection is lost:
It just then loops, and stays in the "mux-rx-line #3: +CPSI: NO SERVICE,Online" state.
Hopefully the above logs are helpful, as I don't know what it all means.
Looks like no / poor cellular connectivity to me.
Following markwj's suggestion I switched over to the edge builds, but it wasn't very stable. I switched to the eap builds instead, it appears to have fixed the cellular connectivity reliability.
