Trusted CA for digital communication to charge station

Hi all,

regarding digital communication to charge stations, is there possibility to upload new trusted CAs via OBD?

Is this commit

https://github.com/openvehicles/Open-Vehicle-Monitoring-System-3/commit/71e209300097c6554edd943feb8e29a36790fe0f

part of this feature?

Thank you

Michele

Michele,

maybe you're confusing things, as OBD is the interface to the vehicle?

Regarding installing TLS certificates to be used by the module, please read:

Hi Michael,

Hi Michael,

the digital communication between car and charger is not OBD but OBD seems to be one of the method to upload trusted CAs (V2G Root CAs) seems to be OBD.

Never heard?

Imagine the link you share me regards the trused CA for TLS communication between OBD device and OVMS server, right?

Thanks,

Michele

So you actually meant OBD and want to install certs on your car.

TLS certs on the module may be necessary for communication with a charge station via HTTPS, e.g. if using a plugin to control a charger from the OVMS or vice versa.

What you mean is the communication of the vehicle with the charger. That is outside the scope of the OVMS framework as it's very vehicle specific, so it needs to be provided by the car adaption.

I suggest contacting the maintainer of the vehicle adaption module for your vehicle type. You can check the source code comments (browse on github) or try posting your question in the appropriate vehicle board here:
