New install issues

Hi,

I've just installed a unit on my car, following the instructions.

When I look at the local unit, website or app I can only see the 12v battery information and the location.

All other information such as traction battery, tpms is not available.

I have checked the status via WiFi connection to the unit and it's on GSM, logged into the V2 server, nothing showing as an issue.

Also checked the car is correctly setup.

The WiFi is on but out of range from my house.

Is there something I am missing?

Any help would be fantastic.

Many thanks in advance.

@Aussi55 I doubt I can give

@Aussi55 I doubt I can give you the answer but you do say "Also checked the car is correctly setup" would give me concern. The reason is that whenever we are trying to sort a new setup we always think we have things "correctly setup" otherwise we'd not be saying we'd still be working on it. It might be helpful to those who could help if you were to detail what your version of "correctly setup" is and in so doing you will reexamine what you have setup from a new viewpoint and could solve the issue on your own

Hi Barry,

Hi Barry,

Thanks for your message.

The issue appears to be the module being unable to gather the information from the car. When I mentioned correctly setup I was referring to the car information, specifically the region.

Anyway I have done some further research and I think the issue is it was previously fitted to a Nissan leaf. That has a specific obd cable as the pin outs are different.

I have ordered a new generic cable, hopefully that is the reason.

Will update when it arrives.

Thank you again.

Resolved

Hi,

Issues resolved, it was simply down to having the wrong OBD2 cable.

The module was originally installed in a Nissan leaf.

The pin outs of the OBD2 cable are different on the leaf to standard.

So if you have an issue where OVMS is only showing 12v and GPS location then worth checking you have the right cable.
