Newly installed OVMS module in Leaf 2015 - United States

I've completed the sim setup and connected everything. One thing I have not done is dissconnect the TCU module (for climate control functionality). The directions say this might not be needed so I figured I'd test the AC first. Well after loading the app on my iPhone... there is no AC button. I see screenshots onhline that under the homelink icon there is one for AC and you're supposed to click it and then turn ac on/off. On my app screen there's nothing like that. I can click homelink, the lock button (which doesn't actually lock the door) and there's a valet icon I can click on too.

Do I have to remove the TCU module for the AC button to even appear?

EDIT - I have enabled the CAN writes and I've entered the model year as 2015 as well. No change.

Are you on iOS by any chance?

Are you on iOS by any chance?

I understand you might need to use the homelink button to control AC on iOS. No idea why.

Using iPhone - iOS yes

Yes using iOS... no joy on homelink button. It prompts a choice of 1,2 or 3 when I click on it.

I've managed to uplug 2 of the 3 connectors to the TCU. I'm unable to unplug the final one (and it's the one that is refereanced in the docs) however I believe the other plug is the power supply. I tried sending a quick message command of "climatecontrol on" to the car... I heard a couple of clicks happen in the car but the AC did not turn on.

Also just noticed I'm running OVMS v2 and not v3. Would that make any difference?

EDIT and FINAL Update --  I plugged in the 2 previously unplugged connections to the TCU and I finally managed to unplug the white connector that is specificed in the documentation. Still no AC button on the hope page however I can use the message center function on the app to send "climatecontrol on/off" and it works. So that's good enough for me.

You beat me to it before I could respond: all connectors needed to be "unplugged" (including the white one) for remote climate control to work. Don't know why you plugged the other 2 back in, but you don't need them...and in fact you can remove the entire unit as it's pretty much worthless once CarWings/EVConnect is gone.

And yes: the "AC" button doesn't do anything on the iOS app. I use the  climatecontrol [on/off] command as well (from the message screen). I'm hoping the developer will eventually fix/update the app, but it's been awhile now so I'm not holding my breath.
