I’ve had an OVMS module for around a year and it has worked reliably. However, I am recently finding that it keeps going offline and power cycling the unit usually brings it back online. My car is a Nissan Leaf Tekna 2014 model. Is it a hardware or a firmware/software issue? I have set it to auto update the firmware so is it possible it has done an update which has introduced a bug? Has anyone else had this problem?
So I've had firmware set to edge since installing the OVMS. I've scripted a solution to charge at a cheapo rate over the 'granny charger' and remote control climate control from 'OVMS connect' app. Recently there has been a lot of firmware updates and I've found a few of them have broken my script or caused the OVMS to become less or totally unreliable. For me with out eNV200 40kwh 2018 vehicle firmware 3.3.005-628-gec1448e2/ota_1/edge (build idf v3.3.4-853-g75bdad1e0 is the most stable of the recent builds (but I still suspect it has an issue in respect of 'ticker' timer issues). The 3.3.005-653-gfa66bee1 build crashes my OVMS requiring a power down reset (unplugged the OBD cable) - be aware that sometimes a reboot can fail if there is an SD card inserted in the OVMS and it won't restart until the SD is removed.
