Hello,
I recently installed an OVMS module in my 2019 Kia e-Niro and overall it works quite well.
SOC, GPS position and most vehicle data are working correctly.
However, I noticed two issues:
1. Lock command problem
- Unlock command via OVMS works correctly.
- Lock command does not work correctly.
- Every time I try to lock the vehicle via OVMS:
- the radio powers on
- the vehicle attempts to lock
- locking fails and the car remains unlocked
2. CAC and SOH values appear implausible
The reported battery values do not seem realistic:
- CAC values are sometimes reported above 100 Ah
- SOH is always shown as 100%
- An independent battery health certificate reports approximately 93.6% SOH
Vehicle mileage is approximately 151,000 km.
Example:
- OVMS reported CAC values up to around 114 Ah
Questions:
- Is this a known issue in the Kia Niro EV module?
- Are CAC and SOH directly read from the BMS or estimated/calculated by OVMS?
OVMS firmware:
- 3.3.004
- Kia module version: xkn 0.1.6
Thanks.
