My OVMS is running firmware
3.3.003/ota_1/main (build idf v3.3.4-848-g1ff5e24b1 Sep 1 2022 08:40:30)
with automatic updates from the default site
https://api.openvehicles.com/firmware/ota
with the update tag not specified so that it defaults to main.
The help system says there should be 1 - 2 updates per year - so is there something wrong with the release process? See:
https://docs.openvehicles.com/en/latest/userguide/ota.html#ota-build-versions
I want to start looking into why some things haven't been working for me and reporting some bugs, but I'm not sure how wise that is while the official version I'm finding fault in is nearly 4 years and a number of versions old.
I've followed the instructions. Is this the firmware I should be using?
Thanks.
I think historically the <main> tag is updated once every year or two (more in the early days, but recently things have stabilised much more). The <eap> tag is updated about twice as often as that (usually one or two updates leading up to the <main> release). The <edge> tag is updated nightly.
There is a new <main> release coming soon (already released on Dexter's and about to be released on API). That is already in <eap> on API (3.3.006-172-g362f8742).
P.S. As always note that <edge> is for developers and technical users only. Be aware that there may be bugs in those nightly builds.
Thanks to those who have issued the first main update in 3 years and 11 months!

The above (from the OVMS status web page) is mostly true. I know the reset reason was the automatic firmware update and that there was NO power interruption.
I'm now in a better position to delve into the problems I've been having - if they are still there.
Just to re-iterate:
